Contributor submission
guidelines:
Autofixworld wants to be a
repository of useful technical and repair information for those
interested in auto technology and repair; sources to include repair
technicians, educators, engineers, enthusiasts, and manufacturers who
have valuable expertise and experience in all things automotive.
Article content may be
original or excerpted from existing books and manuals. We value and
respect copyright, and are eager to comply with all owners copyrights
by seeking approval and providing full accreditation where it is due.
Please identify yourself as copyright holder or provide attribution
when referencing the work of others.
Desirable Content
The line between valuable
editorial content and advertisement is thin and often ill-defined. We
all know the problem with advertorial, from personal experience. For
editorial to be properly valued by the reader, it should be useful,
candid, unbiased, and truthful. We also encourage entertainment
value; a spoonful of sugar never hurts.
Article submissions should
be limited to 1500 words. If content runs longer, we can split it
into two or more smaller articles. Art is critical; photos,
illustrations, and charts all help convey and reinforce content. If
you need a chart or illustration, we will assist by preparing it from
your content and specifications. Please send photos digtally as
.jpegs. Those 176 gigabyte windows bitmaps are the ball and chain of
graphics formats; also referred to as the curse of Bill Gates, and
should be avoided whenever possible. We will be happy to provide
assistance if there are graphics questions.
Please provide a brief
personal biography listing your role in the automotive community,
plus a brief overview of your credentials, experience, and company
affiliation, if relevant. A personal photo is desirable. If you have
a web presence, send the URL and we'll link to it.
We reserve the right to
edit materials for spelling, grammar, and appropriateness. If we are
reprinting an excerpt, however, copy will always be reprinted
verbatim, unless we receive firsthand verbal or written approval to
make changes.
That should get you
started,
